Women, who make up half the population, have always played a significant role in the field of hygiene and sanitation. Recognising this fact and in celebration of International Women’s Day 2022, the portrait of Mrs. Chhaya, a sanitary worker was painted at the entrance to the Mahabaleshwar Block Development Office (Panchayat Samiti Office) of Satara District in Maharashtra.
