Recity recently had the honor of showcasing its innovative tech solutions to the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during the National Technology Week. Organized by NITI Aayog, Technology Development Board, and Atal Innovation Mission, this event aimed to highlight the role of technology in driving India’s progress.
Recity was one of the eight shortlisted companies to exhibit its digitized waste processing infrastructure, currently being implemented in Mathura-Vrindavan Nagar Nigam, in collaboration with the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, this solution focuses on creating a circular economy for plastics by effectively managing waste. Supported by PepsiCo India, Recity’s door-to-door digital monitoring of segregated waste has significantly improved solid waste management efforts in the city.
Recity’s participation in the National Technology Week showcased the positive impact their solutions have on the environment and society. By adopting a cross-value chain approach, Recity has managed to channel 55,000 metric tons of waste out of the environment, benefitting over 10 lakh waste generators and involving more than 3000 waste value chain members across 22 cities in India.
The impressive features and potential impact of Recity’s infrastructure model drew the attention of several key dignitaries at the event. Mr. Ajay K Sood, the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister, paid a visit to Recity’s booth and commended the infrastructure model, strongly recommending its implementation in various cities across the country. Ms. Bharti Sawhney from the Directorate General of Training and Mr. Abhishek Ranjan from the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell also expressed their appreciation for Recity’s scalable and inclusive solutions.Recity’s both attracted over 400 visitors, including government officials from esteemed organizations such as the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Department of Telecommunication (DOT), Technology Development Board (TDB), and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The overwhelming response and positive feedback received from these distinguished guests further reinforced Recity’s position in the waste management sector. Recity’s innovative approach and dedication to making a positive impact on the environment align perfectly with the vision of a technologically advanced and sustainable India.
